Hi! We’re Travis and Mel, and Nordic Adventure Marine sprouted from a shared passion for being on the water. A little about us…
Mel, an Alberta native, made the move to Vancouver almost two decades ago to go to University. When she arrived, she immediately fell in love with being by the ocean, and would longingly stare out at the water, wondering what it would be like to be on one of those boats way out there.
Travis, who grew up in Surrey, lived half on his life on the water. His parents started boating before they had children, and then brought baby Travis out on the boat when he was just 10 days old. Ever since then, being on the water and around boats became part of who he is. He was always a curious child, and wanted to know how everything on the boat worked for the moment he could walk and talk, and would spend hours playing with the electrical panel and various boat mechanical parts, to his father’s dismay. Travis went on to study electronic engineering and be an entrepreneur.
When Travis and Mel met, Travis shared his love for boating, and Mel finally got to fulfill her wish of being out on the water. Together they adventure all over the coast of BC with their children and dog.
With Travis’s background in electrical engineering and automation, as well as starting and growing a tire chain company, and Mel’s background in healthcare and in growing her own businesses, they created Nordic Adventure Marine, to provide local boaters with safe, efficient and innovative equipment to help them feel confident on the water.
